What you describe is true for political affiliation as well.
We are all herd animals to some extent, but the polarization has become
extreme today. Even for mobile phones.

Yes. And no.

The yes is that marketing works. Propaganda works. Political bias works.
The no is that some people are intelligent enough to rise above all that.

An example is I buy Apple products - but I don't fall for the marketing.
Another example is I listen to Democrats & Republicans but I am neither.

Both are inconsistent - which logically intelligence people can see.

An inconsistent example of Apple marketing, for example is:
a. Apple "says" it's safe & secure & private
b. But yet, it's the most exploited phone out there, less secure & private.
c. Hence, Apple lied. So their marketing doesn't work on me. Right?

An inconsistent example of Democrat political propaganda, for example is:
a. Democrats "say" they're for choice on abortion & no choice on guns
b. But yet, the choice is to kill a child & they take away choice on guns
c. Hence, Democrats lied. So their propaganda doesn't work on me. Right?

An inconsistent example of Republican political propaganda, for example is:
a. Republicans "say" they're for religion & guns
b. But yet, the choice is to save a child & yet allow guns to kill.
c. Hence, Republicans lied. So their propaganda doesn't work on me. Right?

These are vastly oversimplified of course.
So don't take them as complete arguments.

They're simply examples of where people who 'parrot' the Apple marketing,
just as people who 'parrot' the political propaganda, are herd animals.

They don't think for themselves.
They are herd animals because it's a protective mechanism.

Animals with no claws become herd animals as protective compensation.

Apple trolls have no ability of independent thought - so they became herd
animals as a protective mechanism against all threats to the Apple herd.

People like you and I, who own independent thought processes, are a dire
threat to the Apple trolls - which is why they lash out at us all the time.

They're afraid of people who can think for themselves.
