  news.tilde.club:119 is public readable.  It was writable too until a
  while ago that was abused.  Some other pub(?)nixens run their news
  server completely walled, e.g. SDF.  So big thanks to the Tildeverse
  for at least staying readable.
 

Sometimes the Tildes look dead, then a flurry of activity happens for a
day or two, then they seem to take another nap. It's quite chill.
