What follows is a complete list of newsgroups in the "Big Eight"
hierarchies (comp.*, humanities.*, misc.*, news.*, rec.*, sci.*,
soc.*, and talk.*) with descriptions. Moderated newsgroups are marked
with the string "(Moderated)" at the end of the description.
Thanks!
Most versions of news support a "checkgroups" control message that can
be used to help keep your active file in sync with the "standard"
Usenet groups. This newsgroup list is in the format expected by such
software.
Even with the line breaks? For instance:
--8<-------------------------------------------------------->8---
comp.compression.research Discussions about data compression
research. (Moderated)
--8<-------------------------------------------------------->8---
Is it accidental or these scripts actually deal okay with these line
breaks? (Just curious.)
