- Abstracting news articles from RSS feeds

There are some nntp2rss scripts in the wild, but unfortunately I do not know any still running instance on a news server.  It could be a useful enhancement to existing free news services, if of course users of these services are interested.  The main problem is that it is read-only; newsgroups need posters to keep being alive, and not only silent readers.
