R.I.P. Marie WInn, 88, in Dec. ("The Town That Had No Policeman," 1970)

OK, so she didn't work on the animated shorts themselves - or illustrate
any of her books, I assume.
But the shorts are pretty good!
She was probably best known for writing about (and naming) the Manhattan
hawk, Pale Male.
Not to mention her 1977 book: "The Plug-In Drug."

I remember, as a kid, watching a cartoon with my class at school - it
was "Why We Have Taxes, or The Town That Had No Policeman" (1970). It's
about 6:30 minutes long and it was based on Winn's book "The
Thief-Catcher: A story about why people pay taxes." (That's what it says
at the end, anyway - BUT, the short was made in 1970 and the book is
dated 1972, IIRC!)
