I've yet to see anything labelled "classic" that wasn't useless rubbish. Shakespeares works are great exampes of so-called "classics" that are immensely B-O-R-I-N-G nonsense. "Classic" is usually added by a know-nothing, arty-farty critic completely out of touch with the real world.  :-)

(And I'm not sure I would characterize 2005 as "these days").

I was comparing it to the good old days of Hanna-Barbera (The Flintstones, The Jestons, etc.), Disney (Goof Troop, Rescue Rangers, etc.), Warner Bros (Bugs Bunny, etc.).
The newer stuff is almost all badly drawn, badly animated, badly written, and badly acted. Awful utter garbage like Spongebob Squarepants, Ren & Stimpy, etc.    :-(

The reboot series was, eh, OK but nowhere near as good.  The anime series was, well, anime.

Reboots are never as good as the original. Most aren't even recognisable as having anything to do with the original.
