that want to see Deirdre Barlow shagging Mike Baldwin retconned?

Many of the older fans of Coronation Street do complain about the awful new storylines, horrible characters, etc. and some of them have stopped watching it. The show has changed over the years, but it has been a slow change as old characters leave and new characters are added. (The actor William Roache was in the very first episode and is still in it today, holding the world record for the actor playing the same role for the longest time.)
The TV Guide here in New Zealand often has fan complaint letters about Coronation Street, but mainly it is due to the fact that the network used to keep moving the show's timeslot, bumping the show completely, and/or scheduling it too late for the oldies and workers to watch and the re-run at lunchtime being no good for those working.

Yeah, don't like it... just switch it off and live your life...
it's only a TV show at the end of the day. Things change. That's
life.
