Her treatment of Rory was one of two reasons I disliked her. The other
was that she was such a Mary Sue that she was literally good at
*everything,* as soon as she tried it.

One of many examples would be when they met pirates. Rory tries to use a
sword and, realistically, has no idea how. Amy then picks up a sword and
is an instant expert, saving the useless Rory by easily defeating an
experienced swordsman.

There was no chance the show would do this, but it would have been great
if Rory'd left by turning to Amy and saying, "You say you love me, but I
think you just like patronizing me."

I would have been fine with Amy if the Doctor had simply solved her
mystery as an arc -- but no, the solution has to be that Amy is integral
to the universe, has literally saved the Doctor's life on multiple
occasions throughout the continuum, and is the one who originally
inspired him to steal the TARDIS we know. Then, she sticks around. She's
both the center of the universe and by far its most capable inhabitant.

It was pretty much the Amy show.
