Billie Piper is the new Doctor Who according to BBC and
Russell T. Davies after the Ncuti Gatwa Era ended
horribly. I can't believe it's real. This is terrible
sci-fi.

I suspect that they might do a Romana type regeneration,
where she gets several tries at different bodies before
settling on the actual actor/actress who is eventually cast.
Wasn't Romana's final form in a previous ep (but not Romana,
obviously)?

Yes, Lalla Ward before playing Romana II in S17 was Princess
Astra in "The Armageddon Factor". (The last episode of the
previous season.)

I wonder if Princess Astra was an influence for Romana's fional form?
I noticed that Colin Baker appeared in an ep during Peter Davidson's
run as The Doctor. That could have been an interesting thing to explore.
Peter Capaldi was in both DW and TW before assuming the role of the
Doctor - they even hung a lampshade on his appearance in Fires of
Pompeii.
And David Tennant took a minor role in an animated DW because he
thought that was the only way he could be a part of the show, since
the live action restart wasn't then on the cards.
