Actually Dave, 1.5 +7 +8 +9 +9 -> 34.5 /5 -> 6.9, but thanks for playing.
Since Aggie never properly watches the programme and never seems to
understand it, you should probably ignore him anyway and use a weighted
average that ignores his spurious outliers.
7 +8 +9 +9 -> 33 / 4 -> 8.25
And before someone says I shouldn’t ignore Aggie’s rating just because I
don’t like it - I’m not.
Objective evidence shows that about 5.5% of people are rating the episode
at about 2 or less. So Aggie’s vote would be weighted fairly in a sample of
20 ratings. I’d probably include it from about 15, myself, to be fair.
However as his rating likely falls at or below the 5% mark, it should not
be included in a sample of 5 (or counted as follows - 5% of 4.25 is 0.2125,
so count Aggie as 25% of a vote) for best accuracy overall.
1.5+7+8+9+9 = 34.5 /4.25 = 8.18. Easier to ignore for the sample size
given.
