Not the greatest comparison, as EastEnders is on twice a week
and is never ending, so I can see how people could get tired of

Yes, television audiences have dropped across the board but I
would expect a show that's only on for seven weeks to hold some
of it's audience share, and it seems Doctor Who's relative
performance in relation to other terrestrial TV shows has been
okay. The total viewing figures are disappointing on the
surface, but the real question is, what viewing figures are
acceptable to the BBC for Doctor Who in 2024? What people say on
YouTube, despite creating a negative impression of a TV show
they profess to be fans of, is irrelevant at the end of the day.
If the BBC are happy with the figures that matter TO THEM, be
they the 7/14/28 day figures, or whatever, then that's all that
matters, as Doctor Who is a BBC TV show.

Would the BBC be happy with lower BBC1 viewing figures for
Doctor Who if they continue to pocket $$ from Disney? If Disney
do not renew their partnership with the BBC for Doctor Who,
would that spell trouble for Doctor Who or would the UK licence
payer pick up the bill? These are the more pertinent questions
to you as a UK TV licence payer than continually saying the
viewing figures are down... and seeming to take great delight in
saying so. As a fan you should want Doctor Who to be a success.
 

Aren't what they were? They're 1/5 of what they were. Gatwa
has less viewers over 7 days plus mobile devices than than the
low figurers Whittaker was getting overnight which were half
the overnights of Eccleston, Tennant, Smith, and Capaldi
before he went woke.
 
2 million viewers on average for a series costing $100,000,000
to make is totally laughable.

Nice catch phrase... but if you mean diversity and inclusion
equals woke then most drama shows on TV these days could be
termed as "woke"... they still get made though don't they?
(Incidentally, "Rings of Power" Season 2 returns this August on
Prime... I don't see Amazon going broke any time soon!)

Don't be like Dave with inane one line catch phrases repeated ad
nauseum...

RTD. Disney may renew after next year, or they may not - but
the show's  not going anywhere. No wonder RTD has half a
dozen scripts in  development for 2026 already.

A new UK government and possible changes to the TV licence fee
at some stage in the future, coupled with lack of investment from
outside sources, could - in theory - affect a lot of BBC TV
shows long term. The traditional television landscape is
changing. (Maybe that's one of the reasons why the BBC partnered
with Disney in the first place.)

Doctor Who ended in 2017 and the woke trash is has been
replaced with which nobody watches, it's just on in the
background just like EastEnders while people do far better
things like cooking, eating, doing the housework and the
washing up.

But you still watch it...
