Yep, they are definitely words.
If you want to get really pedantic, then "every word must have a vowel" is wrong since there are quite a few non-English words that do not have vowels. For example, in Croation there is "prst" (finger), "krv" (blood), "trg" (square), "smrt" (death), etc. :-)

and I can use them in Scrabble then they are words!

I wouldn't go that far. Scrabble allows many things that are not real English words. For a start it allows "color" which is just wrong.  :-p

 If so, feel free to address your pedantic complaints to the
Oxford University Press, Oxford, England...
