In article <xn0on6g3ck1sgii003@post.eweka.nl>,HBO Max ditched it because the ratings were crap. Amazon ditched it because the ratings were crap even before that. Netflix ditched it because the ratings were crap earlier still. Cable ditched it because, you've guessed it, the ratings were crap ever since the series went woke and stopped representing Britain as the world saw it.

Disney you ignorant stupidity filled fool has ALREADY PAID
$200,000,000 or whatever RTD claimed to make 2 series of
Doctor Who. The money is already in the Bank of RTD and Bad
Wolf Productions and Disney ain't going to get any of it back.
>
Do you understand what a contract is, stupid?

Disney+ are obliged to make available world wide what RTD has
made. Since it's a streaming service there are no alternative
sources of revenue to replace Doctor Whoke with. If people
choose not to watch all of it, then Disney doesn't lose any
money by having to stream it to them on demand, except for the
$200 million or whatever it was they paid RTD and Bad Wolf
already.
This is correct! The current season of Doctor Who and Season Two
have already been paid for and filmed, so Doctor Who will
continue to be available on Disney+ in 2025 regardless of
whatever the official viewing figures for Season One on Disney+
actually are.

So while we may never know what the actual number of people who
watch Doctor Who on Disney+ is, it's what happens when the
current deal between Disney and the BBC ends that will tell a
lot about how the show has performed on the Disney+ platform.
And possibly decide the future of Doctor Who even.

If Disney are unhappy with the viewing figures for Doctor Who
it's reasonable to assume that they will not renew their
partnership with the BBC for the international Doctor Who
streaming rights going forward. That will be enough for us to
know that the show didn't do well on the Disney+ platform like
some people on YouTube are claiming.

If Disney do renew their partnership with the BBC/Bad Wolf for
Season Three/Four (and beyond) of Doctor Who, then that would
clearly prove that all the online doom and gloom merchants were
wrong. Where would that leave your figure of 200 then? As surely
you wouldn't expect Disney to renew a multi-million dollar
international distribution rights deal for a TV show that only
gets 200 viewers an episode?!

As I do not know what one of those scenarios is going to
happen... we'll just have to wait and see.
