UNIT and Torchwood are where old Doctor companions and

Don't forget we not only have old companions around the place
looking for excitement, we even have an old Doctor sitting
around the place now too.

So how does he contain himself from getting involved in those
alien invasion type of things that UNIT are investigating?
Sure, he might be happy enough drinking tea and reading his
Kindle in Donna Noble's garden, but surely his interest
would be a little bit piqued when Rose comes home from work
with her news?!

Don't WE also have a DoctorTom/Caretaker hanging around in an
Art Gallery some place??
Tom Baker is 90, I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect him to
answer UNIT's call and run around after aliens anymore...
Although after saying that, there is a woman in UNIT with a
wheelchair stocked with missiles, so they could sit the Curator
in that and let him loose on the Silurians and Sea Devils, or
whatever... If I was writing Doctor Who it's what I'd do!!!
He could 'store' all the exhibits in The Swimming Pool whilst travelling around.
Oh! No! Wait! Didn't the Swiming Pool get ejected way back when??
