The stupidity of editing out smoking from old movies and TV shows. The idiocy in E.T. of replacing the agents guns with walkie-talkies. etc.
It gets even more ridiculous. The loud-mouthed fools who insist on stupidities like statues being removed due to some (claimed) mis-deed by that person in the ancient past. They want to scrub that person's existence from history ... BUT they still want paying compensation, either money or land or both, for the mistreatment of their "ancestors".
Most of "Cancel Culture", "Political Correctness",  and "Equality" is simply about some small group of braindead greedy asses wanting something at everybody else's expense.
Similarly there's recently been a big push, even by governments, for banks to repay people who have been conned out of their money by scams. WHY?!? It's not the bank's fault someone foolishly paid money to a scammer. What next, the bank repaying you because you bought a shirt that you realised you didn't like or the confectionery you bought didn't taste nice to you??
Stupidity abounds in the human race and is getting worse every day. "Common sense" is extremely rare and on the verge of extinction, if not already long gone. :-(
