I don't think his "Church" is behind these rants, I think he attends just to make mummy happy (and provide a ride).  I suspect he is one of those members who other avoid when possible and assign him made up work to help him feel important.  I seem to recall him saying he was a "Watchman", keeping an eye out for the second coming.

 

I would ask him for the exact Scripture passage that states what he claims but I know it's a waste of time and electrons.

In the fundamentalist world they don't want you to learn, just accept whatever dogma they push at you.  Thinking for yourself is a no-no.
My son was ostracized from a fundamentalist youth group because he actually asked real questions. (He only went because his girlfriend at the time dragged him there).

One downside of the Internet is if you look hard enough you can find something or someone that appears to support your claims, right binky?
