Then of course there are the rumours that Disney isn't
happy and is waiting to see how well or not this new
season does before making any decision, which then means
the BBC can't make a decision / announcement. Just one
more issue to add to the pile of problams with the Disney
agreement.

I'd be very surprised if the BBC didn't have some contingency
plans in place to cover every option... "Doctor Who" is one
of its biggest shows. I doubt the show is in complete limbo,
I'd like to think there is a plan B.

They probably do have a few options, but they can't announce
anything until Disney decide what they're doing ... unless the
BBC gets fed up with the wait and simply decides to tell
Disney to "get lost" of course, then the BBC can announce
whatever other option they've chosen.

I'd be very surprised if the BBC didn't have options on the
table. As I said, sitting in limbo until S15 finished airing in
June wouldn't make a lot of sense. Disney buying more episodes
might be plan A, but I'm sure there's a plan B if they don't...
and maybe even a plan C.
REcall when the BBC and CBC partners in the mid 2000s.
WHAT?? So it wasn't JUST BBC that restarted 'Doctor who' ... It was BBC *AND* CBC that rejuvenated 'Doctor Who'!! (Snicker!! Snicker!!)
Well done CBC!! ;-P
