 Nope. It starts with Ludwig being contacted by his sister-in-law asking him to come for a visit because they haven't seen Ludwig in a while, but it's a ruse to get him to come help her investigate what has happened to her husband. Even by the end of the season we don't know what happened to the detective, other than he seems to have gone into hiding without telling his family. A second season is being made.

 Looks like our local TV Station has gone back to the start ....

I wouldn't trust what TV stations put in the blurbs on their guides (printed, website, or on-screen).
Sky TV in New Zealand has had the exact same blurb from an old last season episode for *every* episode of Casualty since Christmas! Thanks to them we missed a few episodes at the start of the year before I got suspicious and recorded one, and discovered it was actually a new episode.   :-(
