Precisely. That too was a show designed to attract non-Who fans.
Although, Doctor Who hasn't actually put that name on any of the spin-off shows, such as "The Advetures of Sarah Jane" and "K-9".

From the teaser trailer this looks a bit more gritty than Doctor
Who. I'm not too keen on the Sea Devil redesign though. They
look too clean... they could be any generic underwater alien
from any show.

The originals were scary monsters from the sea. I
can't say the Sea Devil in the clip looked scary at all.
 Still, it's only a teaser so we won't be too harsh at this early
stage...
