Pretty much the entire history of entertainment industry proves it many many many times over. :-)
It's not just the entertainment industry either. You just have to look at any business company where a new manager or CEO comes along and tries to change things to try to prove how "clever"/"useful" they are, only to make a complete mess of it and waste piles of money.
