I hear a deal is almost inked with Netflix for the
continuation of Doctor Who with a new partner. And that kind
of makes sense. Netflix's viewer profile and slate of shows is
rather more LGBT friendly than Disney+ so for the current
style of the show its a better fit.
As long as that doesn't mean another re-launch for the new
service... I mean, if "Doctor Who" continues on Netflix, or
Prime Video (outside of the UK) do they go with S3 or S16 for
the next run of episodes, or do they go for a soft reboot and
return to S1?
But wtf is this about commissioning 52 10' episodes of a
Doctor Who animated show for ... cBeebies? Doctor Who for the
under 5s? What kind of a mad idea is that?
Yeah, "Doctor Who" [the main show] is in limbo at the moment as
the BBC touts it out to bidders for the overseas streaming
rights... but in the meantime, let's go forward and commission
some animated kids stories for the cBeebies channel. <rolls eyes>
Weird.
Who are they going to get to play the Doctor? Maybe they should go for one of the classic Doctors and retcon the entirety of the woke crap since 2005 out of existence. That's the only way they are going to save the franchise after the Timeless Child monster and turning 3 Doctors in a row gay.
