Re: But what about Trump?

A friend of mine just made my point about why America isn't (will ever
be?) ready for a female president.
Many foreign countries don't respect women, but I don't really think the
masses of Americans are prepared to respect a woman president at this
time, either.
I said it two decades ago, one reason I'm sure John McCain lost the
presidency to Obama (besides, like Biden, his age and the fact that he
was following the terrible George W. Bush years promising "more of the
same") was the fact that he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.
The fact that the elderly McCain would be succeeded by a woman
definitely lost him some votes to the charismatic and strong candidate
Obama.
America wasn't ready for a woman president in 2008 and we weren't ready
for one in 2024.
I like her fine, but Kamala Harris just wasn't a strong enough contender
to beat Trump, beloved leader of millions of Americans.
If the Democrats want to win another election, they need to wise up and
get another strong candidate who offers the American people what they're
looking for... without the hate part, of course.
