I was tuned in to that
snip-snap sound

After the visit
we sat in the hospital cafeteria.

on that arid little hill

I didn't see her again
after that

Back in the present
three years later

As she sipped her soup

Around us
I could hear talk of the rain
everyone talking about the rain.

But what did you care? You were too busy getting stoned and thinking
about getting laid.
