Erotic poetry genre, and the characters are influenced by Beatnik and
1980s new wave and punk rock zeitgeist of those eras.

Atlanta Georgia was quite sophisticated in 1982 actually.

lived in, but it was certainly *NOT* accepted anywhere else.

Every city has different social scenes and so on.
In 1982 one of the popular youth culture scenes was the wild punk rock
and New Wave scene.
Not every scene matched this, as there were many others, Country music
as made popular by Urban Cowboy at around that time, gay culture which
was based more on the Disco era, heavy metal rock kids, there were all
sorts of scenes that no longer exist now in 2025.
