On Tuesday, July 16, at 8 PM Eastern time, I'll provide livestreamed accompaniment for the 1920 silent film _The Golem_. The movie deals with the legend that some time around 1600, Rabbi Loew of Prague created and animated a golem to protect the Jews of Prague. Judah Loew was a real person, a noted scholar in the Prague Jewish community.
The movie is a mix of the good and the not so good, but it's surprisingly sympathetic for its time in its treatment of the Jews.
I'm accompanying it again at the Plaistow, NH Library on Friday, July 26, at 1 PM.
The link for the livestream is
