The reason for this is a total solar eclipse which will happen over
Australia on July 22.

I won't be going, but that seems like a good reason to change a date.

They're a bit slow; the eclipse has been forecast for ...,I dunno, ages.
I started thinking about it in 1999.
I did go to see the one last April, in northern Vermont.
Hotels were charging extortionate rates, and it was hard
finding a Tesla charger. But crowded? The total eclipse covered
a vast area, and could be seen from almost anywhere. I had a
great experience.
The problem came after, when most people decided to drive south
right the same afternoon. The 3.5 hour drive to Boston took
many 12+ hours. I stayed an extra day, and ran into very few issues.
