 For me, George Reeves will always be the best-looking and most
believable Superman, although my father never thought he looked
athletic enough for the part.  I don't think he needs to be athletic
or athletic looking, what with being super.

I have long believed that a real Kal-El would look on
Earth like the legendary 90 lb weaklng in the Charles Atlas
ads in comic books in the good old days when I was
pre-pubertal...  Because Earth's gravity is weaker than the
gravity of Krypton that was and his muscles would not have
to develop so much.  Later it has become clear that the
Costumed superheroes are simply magical beings. Kal-El
does everything via magic and did all those other guys
and girls who featured in the comics of yesteryear.
Currently Superman is now the son of Kal and is gay
with a boyfriend/mate.
I only know about it because it the library as it
did not when I was young now carries graphic novels.
I did not know that until they put those graphic
novels at the front of the New books display which
caught my eye as I walked back to the SF books
section.
