BTW, a corporal in the US Marine Corps is equivalent to a sergeant in the US Army.

Note, E-8 in both when the senior NCO in a company are First Sergeant, E-9 when senior NCO in a battalion are Sergeant Major in Marines and Command Sergeant Major in the Army.
