Translation State. Ann Leckie.
Set in the same universe as the brilliant five star Ancillary trilogy
with the plot of three widely different intertwining stories of
characters of widely diverse nature or nuture. It was superb for maybe
two thirds. I love her universe and her writing with the alien
Translator sprogs unbelievably fascinating as non-malicious but highly
dangerous. The bureaucratic and political aspects were also interesting.
I was a little confused with learning of the Presger existence in and
influence of different space/time which carried on for too long and the
obviously-coming-all-book Mills and Boon ending somewhat soppy with
everyone living happy ever after. Highly recommended. Four stars.
