"Just 26 miles across the sea' but the Western Pacific sees few
hurricanes because we do not really have the Gulf of Mexico at
hand.  We do have tropical storms and monsoons down Mexico way
but we also have atmospheric rivers to dump on all of Califonia.
Catalina is a capitalist vacation paradise. Poor folks should
stay away. It is a very controlled community on the island.
