Hi Typers and readers, Not long ago read "*peripheral*" by Wiliam Gibson which is set somewhen not pleasant but before the Jackpot which seems to be a disaster on a massive scale and in the future of a different timeline investigating the somewhen and trying determine that it is of some value to the baseline. The real actors connect digitally to the past that may have been and try to fix something then that will improve the future. "peripheral" is a reference to biological constructs which look like people but which must be warehoused at least half the time to be fed and conditioned and are used as mobile terminals for the people of the time. These are the same characters as in the later book by Gibson, "Agency". Still playing with the people in "stubs" which are short branches from the main timeline. "Agency" by William Gibson. Human Verity Jane, app tester extraordinary, is hired by a company to try out their new Personal Assistant which is a combination of human skills and a laminar- structured software which takes control of Jane's world even after the PA is shut down as it has sent out branches or roots to entangle itself into an unassailable position.
