Hi again Readers and typers, "Bang Bang Bodhisatta" by Aubrey Wood. The central character is a transgender woman hoping that by helping a Private Eye she will earn money to pay for more transgender stuff. She is about 30 years old but of diminutive stature and can pass for 12. Carson's World is sort of free- wheeling authoritarian state with Carson running most of the vice. Lots of stuff about body modifications of several sorts. She and the PI keep finding dead bodies or scenes of violence. She meets the killer unwittingly and once again the psycho-divergent are the villain. The killer has multiple- personality disorder and has been in trouble before but due to the very best connections escaped without the confinement or death that might be the murderer's due. It is set in the Western USA and most of the action takes place in a city in California, probably Los Angeles. We have android/robots most of whom are stuck in a servile mode. They long for freedom. They will even participate in crime in a passive mode to win freedom. The murderers and by the end of the book there is more than one, escape once more. There will have to be another book to finish the questions left about this crew of gender-divergent people living in polyculues, dealing drugs and solving crimes. I enjoyed it very much. I will read any sequels if I live so long. bliss -- b l i s s dash s f 4 e v e r at d s l e x t r e m e dot c o m
