My ears perked up when I saw "Achernar" -- very close to "Achenar", the
capital of the Empire in _Elite Dangerous_.
"Achernar" and "Fomalhaut" are favourite stars in the SF of Jack Vance.
I just think he liked the names.
"Fomalhaut" also shows up briefly in Dickson's "Mission to Universe", but not as a star with a habitable planet. Far from it.
