But who knows what 10 000 years of selective breeding
might have accomplished in the way of cuteness.
The problem probably was that those early neolithic farmers
hadn't yet invented newspapers for them to fetch.

PS 'kamerolifant(je)' is a Dutch word, meaning 'fatso, 'butterball',
'couch potato', etc. You get the idea.
The word is sadly lacking in English.
