Much depends on how we define "fanfiction".
Fanfiction proper is fiction written by a fan as a way of
enjoying the original work.
When a work is really good, one thinks about it afterward.
At the end of _Dark Lord's Daughter_ it is obvious that by
the time the daughter finds a way to send her mother home,
it will be a shopping trip and the mother will return to her
duties in the castle. As I was falling asleep that night, I
pondered long on what she would buy and where she would get
the money. Would she still have access to her bank account?
How much money was in her purse?
A fan ficcer would have made a story out of that. Sharing
the story with friends would have been closely akin to
discussions that take place on this newsgroup.
