The woolly mammoth was hunted to extinction by men. It must have tasted
really good or they wouldn't have caught them all. I'm all for bringing
it back if it is good to eat.

It probably wasn't just because of the taste. Archeological sites indicate that every part of the mammoth was used. Pelts for housing and clothes, ivory and bone for various tools and art, sinew for thread, etc. etc.
