Yeah, I'm the guy who thinks even the so-called "hard" sci-fi is just a bunch of unscientific "fantasy". But I finally found a story that actually hits the mark! "Down and Out" by Ken Wharton! I won't give too much away, so I'll just throw out the opening line: "Ogby trudged up the seamount".
