news shows. My daughter in England lives in one of the two British
electoral districts has voted Green and she's fairly happy with that -
while I'm a Canadian conservative which as you say is quite different
from 'conservatives' in the US.

to listen on social issues'

In which case I am not sure what party you are supporting.  At the federal level the conservatives have never run a budget surplus in your lifetime.  (The tiny surplus claimed by Harper in his last year was open fraud.)
