In the next week or two I hope to visit with my oldest grandchild, age 13, who lives out of state.  She has started reading sci-fi, and I will give her a copy of Arthur C. Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama."
I will also give her a copy of "Saturn Run" and Eric Flint and Ryk Spoor
"Boundry".  She this year with considerable interest read "Scythe".
Over a year ago I gave her a copy of Heinlein's "Star Beast",
but sadly, she did not care for it.

Bummer on "The Star Beast".
I bought a copy of "Scythe" and it is about 200 or so down my reading list.
