I think I hit the lowlights. Was Baez even on episode? I don't
recall.
I believe I caught a glimpse of her being there when they arrested
the Security Manager at the campus (or his minion). I think she had
a cliche throwaway line but if you blinked, you missed it.
Which was a big drop-off from the previous episode where she hinted
to Danny that if he'd come in to her house instead of watching from
outside all night, he might have gotten some of her spicy jalapeno.
And this was right after she dropped the serial killer special
forces-style, with a double-tap to the heart and a security shot
between the eyes.
I had thought there might actually be some romantic developments in the
final episodes but so far, not much has happened in that department.
For example, I've long thought it would be cool - mostly because it
would be such a departure from the standard Hollywood cliches - if Erin
and Anthony got together and became a couple. But a recent episode had
Anthony reconnecting with his wife on (apparently) friendly terms so
that makes a hookup with Erin unlikely at best. And now a Danny-Baez
connection seems unlikely too.
Mind you, romance has never been a major part of Blue Bloods, at least
as it has evolved. In the first season, it looked like the writers had
something harder-edged in mind and Frank even had a mistress but she
disappeared after only the first half of the season. (I don't remember
if there was a single line of dialog explaining that.) Since then,
Frank has (apparently) been celibate. Erin's husband was almost never
seen, then they divorced, got back together for a time, then he
disappeared again. Danny was happily married but they killed off his
wife, presumably due to budget cuts but maybe for story reasons, but
he's apparently stayed celibate too. Of course Jamie got married but
that's pretty much the only romance we've seen on an ongoing basis.
Henry's never had a girlfriend or second wife either.
