Contains a parody of the Maxell "Blown Away Guy" ad - we see Walter
Bishop 'relaxing' in front of a huge bank of speakers, sitting deep in
an armchair, while playing classical music at high volumes.

At the gas station, when Noreen Miller is filling up, the emblem on the
front of her Dodge mini van is obscured with silver tape. There is also
a Ford Explorer, which leaves the station as the scene opens, which also
has its grill emblem covered with silver tape.
(This was because Ford stopped paying for product placements. Nissan
took their place.)

Walter explains to Olivia the spores on the bodies are cordyceps fungi.
Cordyceps fungi are what cause people to mutate in the Playstation game
The Last of Us. This episode premiered 2 years before the game was
released. Anna Torv plays the live action version of Tess, a character
in the game, in the HBO adaptation that premiered in 2023.

Aaron Sneddon: I don't... like doctors. They scare me.
Olivia Dunham: Oh, you'll like Walter. There's nothing scary about him.
[Walter enters wearing a blood-stained apron]
Dr. Walter Bishop: All right, young man, let's get started. Take off
your shirt and hop on the table.

What Did You Watch?
I watched HUNTER KILLER. A movie based around a Russian General who
kidnapped the Russian President and is attempting to start a war with
the USA. It starts out with a US sub following a Russian sub under the
ice cap when a blowout occurs on the Russian sub. Then a hidden
Russian sub takes out the US sub. (All part of a setup to make it look
like the USA started the conflict.)
The Russian General has all communications cut off so the Russian
President can't contact anyone so as far as anyone is concerned the
Russian General is in charge. All because he doesn't believe the
President was tough enough. Though I'm not sure where he thought any
sort of war with the USA was going to go. Since he didn't seem to want
a full on war, but somehow thinks that getting a minor conflict (can
taking out a US submarine be considered minor?) going will cement him
in charge.
The USA doesn't know this is going on so they need to send a sub out
to find out what happened as they know from telemetry and sonar that
two subs went down. They don't have any close enough other than a sub
in port due to a lack of a commanding officer. So they promote Gerard
Butler's character to Commander and send him out to figure out what is
going on. (It's his turn to save the world again but with backup.)
The USA sends in a 4 man team to figure out what is going on with the
Russian President and find out about the Russian General when they see
his men executing the Russian President's security team. So that's
when the USA decides to rescue the Russian President and orders
Butler's sub in to the Russian base to get the US soldiers and Russian
President out.
They do so with help from the Russian sub commander from the sub that
was sunk at the beginning of the movie who they were able to rescue.
He provides the knowledge need to get through the minefield in the
narrow passage into the base so they can pick the remaining member of
the 4 man team and the President. Though it's not an easy task as the
4 man team is discovered (hence the drop to a 1 man team) and the
General order his people to find the sub that he knows must be there
and sink it.) Oddly enough he must only have loyal people as his
soldier are not only willing to kill the American soldiers but also
the Russian President.
Of course multiple times they make out like submarines are made of
paper even at depths that shouldn't be a problem for them. That allows
them to have the dramatic leaks that must be fixed before they drown
and fires that keep ocurring. Luckily it all works out in the end.
I guess this is the last movie for Michael Nyqvist (Viggo in JOHN
WICK).
