Oh, and besides Trump who do you think makes the GOP look
worse, Santos or McCarthy?

I'm not a fan of hers but she is upstanding in that way. The
GOP isn't upstanding in any way. My biggest regret is that
Trump likely won't be sentenced to jail time.

Don't be too sure. He's shown no remorse, and he did violate
gag orders 10 or 11 times. Those are big mitigating circumstances.

Fact is, he's going to get some form of punishment.

Judge Merchan is very cool. It's hard to read how he'll react on
this one. Your points are well taken though, he should be
sentence accordingly for those reasons. I'm thinking he'll get
sentenced to home confinement with an ankle bracelet.
The choice of punishment could reasonably consider a convict's
likelihood to re-offend. Since Trump's conviction was ultimately
about election interference, the judge might notice that Trump
currently stands accused of at least two other instances of
exactly that.
Is that your supposition or have you heard that somewhere else?

he gets time, it'll all be because he's been asking for it.

I could see him doing weekends in jail. That wouldn't hurt his
campaigning, and would teach him to shut his yap.
To be fair anybody else in the world who acted as flagrantly as Trump
would be hung out to dry--why should the fat orange weasel get any
preferential treatment?

Sure, it's stupid... because they're going to do it anyway.
That's why I think home confinement with a really large ankle bracelet

Service protection. Plus he's not likely to skip the country. Most
likely he would get home confinement to Mar-A-Largo which isn't really
home confinement. Other than his inability to travel to do rallys.
It's not like being confined to a 2 bedroom home.

Why aren't ankle bracelets needed? Is he special? Does the convict get
to choose his jailers now?

Why Mar-a-Lago? Why not Trump Tower?
He committed the crime in New York. He was indicted and convicted in
New York. Why shouldn't he serve his sentence in (wait for it) New York?

Who gets to pick? The convict? Is this what your legal instincts tell you?
Or are you just bullshitting in favor or your Dear Leader again?

gets near.
As for why Mar-A_Largo and not Trump Tower I only suggested it because
that is where Trump officially calls his home now. In reality does it
really matter if he gets home confinement at Trump Tower or
Mar-A-Largo? Either way it's not the sort of confinement that one of
us would experience if we were confined to our homes.
Or maybe I'm just running a long con as part of my support for Dear
Leader?
