La Palma

I know: "nobody has Netflix". But just in case anyone has acquired it recently, you may want to check out La Palma. It's a 4 episode series - not sure yet if it is a limited or ongoing series - that has a premise involving an imminent disaster, namely a volcanic eruption and tsunami.
It is set on La Palma, one of the islands making up the Canary Islands (situated in the Atlantic just east of Africa). The Islands are part of Spain and are primarily tourist resorts. They are of a volcanic nature. This particular island has a team of geologists studying it.
I've just watched Episode 1 and it shows normal life on the island. Tourists taking in the beauty with scientists doing their research. The tourists are from various places with an emphasis on a family from Norway. The head scientist is Spanish but the rest are a mix that includes some Scandinavians. (The dialog is largely in English but there are occasional conversations in Norwegian and Spanish so you'll probably want English subtitles turned on or to watch the English-dubbed version.)
Things start happening on the island: small discharges of gas, mild tremors, a crack that has suddenly appeared in the mountain, and a gathering of sea turtles, all travelling together. The scientists start getting concerned and investigate the crack to see how big it is, only to discover that it is very big indeed. Then, while they are examining it, it starts to discharge large quantities of poisonous gas and they have to run for their lives....
So ends the first episode.
 From the trailer I watched, it's clear that an evacuation of the island may become necessary but that it would be difficult to say the least.
I plan to watch the remaining episodes to see how this turns out.
FYI: There are no big name stars in this but everyone on both sides of the camera does a respectable job.
