IIRC one of them got arrested, tried and sentenced to jail.  Possibly
killing the show in the process.  So I'd say that ya, they are as stupid
as they play them to be.

have been. Apparently there were sex and drugs and guns and felonies
involved and by pleading guilty he got probation.
 IMDb seems to take the show is still in production. But most of the clips
I’m watching must be at least 10 years old.

Wikipedia lists 23 seasons with the latest episodes aired in 2023. It shows a S24, but no air dates.
