[OT] Thinking of moving to RedNote?

In light of the ban of TikTok in America, I understand many TikTokers have moved to another Chinese platform called RedNote. That may prove to be a bad idea.
Serpentza, a South African who lived in China for 14 years, learned Mandarin Chinese, and married a Chinese woman, shares his insights into RedNote (which is actually a mistranslation of the Chinese name, which properly translates to "Little Red Book"):

In a nutshell, Americans who go to RedNote will find the whole app entirely in Chinese and will find that it is very heavily censored, meaning anything they want to say about practically anything that they can discuss freely on other apps will get them blocked. For instance, any discussion of politics or LGBT issues or any number of other topics is taboo. Furthermore, the Chinese government has already expressed concern about foreigners in RedNote and has taken the initial steps to segregate foreign users of the app into a separate silo that only lets them talk to other foreigners and not to Chinese people.
