Hoping to heal, she returns to the wild beauty of Scotland's Orkney Islands, where she grew up. 2024 British-German film; 1hr 58m. Stars  Saoirse Ronan [as Rona], Saskia Reeves, Stephen Dillane, Paapa Essiedu, Nabil Elouahabi, and Izuka Hoyle, none of whom I've ever heard of.
Really?! I've heard of nearly all of them, and you should at least know who Ronan is!

Big Boys        (complete final season 3)        (12:01 am, Hulu)
A comedy about two mismatched boys who strike up an unlikely friendship when they’re thrown together at university.
Season 3: For Jack and Danny, their time at Brent Uni is coming to a close and with that comes the ups and downs of dissertations, deadlines, and dating. Furthermore, can their friendship last when they enter real adulthood?
Hulu acquired seasons 1 and 2 in December 2024.
UK series, which explains why I've never heard of it.

     Broadcast and cable:
The Irrational       (season 2 finale)         (10 pm, NBC)
Geez - already?! I don't think I ever saw more than 5 mins of the current season!

       Streaming:
The Studio         [new]            (12:01 am, Apple TV+)
Created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, "The Studio" is a 10-episode comedy that finds Rogen playing the new head of an aging Hollywood movie studio that is struggling to stay relevant in the streaming era. Other cast regulars include Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders. Bryan Cranston has a recurring guest role and, because the series is set within the entertainment industry, you can expect plenty of additional familiar faces to show up as themselves (including Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Ron Howard, and Zac Efron). Two episodes stream today followed by weekly installments through May 21.
Again, the problem is that I just don't like Rogen. Also, 10 episodes is a large buy-in for this...

Weird, as I just saw another article that mis-ID'ed it as "season #2".

Holland        (movie)           (12:01 am, Prime Video)
Nancy Vandergroot (Nicole Kidman) is a teacher and homemaker whose picture-perfect life with her community pillar husband (Matthew Macfadyen) and son (Jude Hill) in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan, tumbles into a twisted tale. Nancy and her friendly colleague (Gael García Bernal) become suspicious of a secret, only to discover nothing in their lives is what it seems. 1h 48m.
This seems... vague.

A Complete Unknown        (movie; streaming premiere)          (12:01 am, Hulu)
Timothée Chalamet as young Bob Dylan.

As she navigates the messy process of her second coming-of-age, she confronts her grief while finding the courage to live fully again. 2h 3m.
Bah!

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip (movie)      (3:01 am, Disney+)
This film follows a Mexican American family who have recently lost their connection to each other and their roots, as they embark on an epic road trip that immediately goes hilariously wrong. 1h 18m.
Bah!

The Rule of Jenny Pen       (movie)         (3:01 am, Shudder)
Arrogant Judge Stefan Mortensen (Geoffrey Rush) suffers a near-fatal stroke, leaving him partially paralyzed and confined to a retirement home. Resistant to the staff and distant from his friendly roommate, Mortensen soon clashes with seemingly gentle resident Dave Crealy (John Lithgow) who secretly terrorizes the home with a sadistic game called "The Rule of Jenny Pen” while wielding his dementia doll as an instrument of cruelty. What begins as childish torment quickly escalates into far more sinister and disturbing incidents. When Mortensen's pleas to the staff go unanswered, he takes it upon himself to put an end to Crealy's reign of terror.
This sounds... unpleasant.

Ex Door Neighbor        (movie)         (3:01 am, Tubi)
An engaged couple's perfect life unravels when one of their exes moves in next door, threatening their happiness with a hidden agenda. Stars Chantel Riley, Getenesh Berhe and Kwaku Adu-Poku.
Gosh, I've never seen this story before!!  :p

Yeah, LMN is showing Lifetime reruns this week, and I'm not interested in any of them!

Guy Ritchie's London-set organized crime series finds Pierce Brosnan as the head of a crime family that is battling with a rival for control of a global syndicate. Helen Mirren, Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine, and Joanne Froggatt also star. 10 episodes released weekly through June 1. The series is also shown on Showtime on Monday at 8 pm starting tomorrow.
This is a show I'm actually thinking about watching, though I probably can't fit it in.

The Last Anniversary          [new]        (3:01 am, Sundance Now/AMC+)

This was a pretty disappointing week. Though that's OK, as I'm behind of watching stuff right now anyway...
