This has been gone so long I just assumed it had been canceled. These shows
are now going so long between seasons that the subsequent season is more of a
revival of the show than a continuation of it.

I'm watching Wolf Hall. Nine seasons!

I can't imagine how this affects the actors, who either have to sit around for
years with no work, or try taking on other projects hoping they won't conflict
with the series they're already under contract to when the producers finally
get off their asses and start making the next season.

There was a hell of a lot of recasting of younger characters.
