What did you watch?
 Not much:
soaps: DOOL - Thur's ep. Ava is all lovey-dovey with Harris, but he suspects she's hiding something (she is!!). Steve and John are still all apoplectic about Clyde's escape, and Ava's all like "Take a chill pill, dudes!" She also finally reveals to him that the cute but EVOL! copette was Clyde's g.f. (she never told them this before now!?!). Steve is so worried about John that he informs Marlena. Constantine continues to smooth-talk/romance Maggie, and like a dope she's falling for it! Later John confronts Constantine.
And, for the first time in literally decades, I watched an episode of:
L&O - This was the first one with Tony Goldwyn taking over the role of the D.A. on the show. (For 63, the dude looks *great*!!)
I would not have guessed he was that old.
The Executive
Assistant District Attorney (Hugh Dancy) is all put out by Goldwyn's DA, who is rather inscrutable, but after first worrying about him too, his underling (Odelya Halevi) seems more than willing to throw him under the bus to the new boss!!
The case of the week itself was a nothingburger about "dominatrix", incl. "financial" ones?!?!, the latter of which (newbie actress Bailey McCall) killed her client - Haven't they covered this ground before!!

After this many years, probably.
I watched:
The American Society of Magical Negroes (theatrical) New movie starring Justice Smith as a struggling young artist who is recruited by David Alan Grier to join a secret organization of African Americans who use magic to make the lives of White people better.  Things get complicated when during his first assignment Smith falls in love with a woman who the guy he's trying to help also starts to like.  So he's ordered to sacrifice his love for the greater good.  The movie is a social commentary and satirizes movies like "Driving Miss Daisy," "Hitch," and "The Green Mile," amongst many, many, other movies like that.  Overall I'd rank it slightly better than meh.  It held my interest and it was funny when it needed to be.  But I think I just wanted more.  Maybe more humor or more action (technically the movie had no action). Just more. I think perhaps my main fault is the movie lacked a true antagonist. Sure the guy Justice Smith was helping was by default his foil, but I was expecting to see a true antagonist, perhaps with their own magical powers.  And in the back of my mind I kept expecting that to happen but it never did.  The movie basically played it safe.  But if you're going to release a movie with that title, don't play it safe!  "Sorry to Bother You" covered the same ground but did it much better by not playing it safe.
Someone in another group discussing this movie posted a link to an old Key & Peele sketch which covers the same ground.  The sketch is really funny and it's exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for in this movie.
