I feel bad for Lizzy Caplan - she tried her best, and indeed may have been the best thing about the sequel - but she already had, like, 7 strikes against her. Including the fact that the second one, esp. the denouement, was asinine.

 There's definitely a third one on the way.  There's been a lot of chatter about it recently.  I *almost* didn't watch the first two because I expect it to arrive in the next year or two.

Wow, it looks like you're right. Last time I checked was when I watched both films last year, and there was no news. It looks like news on "3" has just broken in the last week:
