Some trivia: when she filmed the scene where she was yanked back and forth
through the water by the shark, it was really guys in scuba gear underwater
with those motorized jet sleds pulling her around with ropes tied around her
torso. At one point they got their signals crossed and both of them pulled
her in opposite directions, breaking two of her ribs. So those screams of
terror and pain on screen are real.

 
That's horrible.

But Spielberg used the footage anyway. The show must go on!
